Subject: Totoro wednesday!

Next wednesday, I'll finally get off my lazy butt and show some more anime!

Tonari No Totoro, or My Neighbor Totoro is a very sweet gentle film about
two girls who move into a new house with their father while their mother is
sick in the hospital.  Next to the house is a huge camphor tree...  Totoro
is more or less the king of the forest and he makes random appearences to
the two girls when they least expect it.

You can't get more gentle than this film!  It's like a playful romp in the
grass!  Typical beatiful backgrounds and animation.  These are two girls
you'd want to babysit or have as children.

Totoro is Studio Ghibli's symbol and icon.  That's what an important
influence he is to the studio.  Many environmental groups have taken Totoro
as their symbol too, as he's kind of an embodyment of Nature itself.

As usual, this will not be subtitled, but shown in Japanese-only from laser
disk while I read an english script aloud.
